I finished the newborn soaker last night -- well almost the ribbing for the leg openings is not done yet :)

Another post and run...

I managed to get my computer to behave for a bit longer (just wait for the pictures below it is pretty comical). So I figured I would jump at the chance to post some pictures and do some updates.

First this is a pair of shorties done on Rodeo BFL in the colorway Elliot with some dark brown trim. These colorways always make me want a boy -- although doing a really girly skirty in a colorway like this would be interesting. These are drying now and should be ready to ship tomorrow or Monday.

Today I received a skein of Mosiac Moon Snow blossom on 3ply Uruguay Merino, this is for a newborn soaker and a pair of small capris. I just cast the newborn soaker on this afternoon and I am so excited to be knitting some itty bitties again.

These are the last 2 pairs of peace fleece shorties. I have the drawstrings done I just haven't threaded them through yet, these will be leaving for their new home soon. Not sure why they are sideways they aren't like that in my iPhoto I will come back and fix that when I get a chance.
And now for the comic relief. Here is what it takes to get a G3 iBook with a failing video chip to limp along for just a bit longer. What you are seeing here is a G3 700mhz iBook (my baby) that has about 4 layers of cardboard behind the video chip keeping the chip in contact with the logic board, then there is duct tape holding the now bulging sides together, some medical tape down by the touch pad keeping those edges together. And the star of the show one of DH's wood working clamps that I borrowed from him today to put pressure in *just* the right place to keep this puppy working until I have knit enough to buy a replacement. It looks totally bizarre but it works, and for a laptop that cost me $48 and I love dearly the awkwardness it creates doesn't bother me. We are actually planning to replace this iBook with an identically refurbished one it is perfect for our needs and other than the chip issue (which you can see below I know how to McGyver for awhile) it is great!

Really I will be sad when we get our new one -- but it will give me a chance to open the back of this one and attempt to bond the chip back to the logic board.

So that is it for now hopefully I will be able to keep the updates coming more frequently (with the help of the clamp).

Temporarily back

Computer purchase has been put on hold (I am determined to buy it with my knitting money alone) but I did manage to get my laptop to work with some more cardboard and some tape -- so for now we are good :)

Here are the finished Fluff Ball Auction longies, the yarn was hand dyed by A Twisted Stitch and knit up by myself. I love the colorway very rich and the yarn knit up with a nice thickness -- I am already dreaming up colorways for V on this yarn for her night woolies. These should be shipping on Monday (taking the weekend off as tomorrow is V's 1st birthday celebration and Sunday is of course Mothers Day)!

No pictures yet but I am working on a test pattern for a sheepy time skirty -- very cute if I do say so and I can't wait to finish it and try it on V.

I also cast on the last pair of peace fleece longies today -- no pictures as I hadn't cast them on when I took the photos this afternoon but there will be some soon!

'Retro Robots' is done

The 'Retro Robot' set is done and I will be posting it for sale first on diaperswappers and if no one buys it there I will put it up on etsy. The yarn used is Belladonna's Retro on Aran BFL, the shirt I purchased this winter off of ebay -- it is brand new but my tag obsessed older daughter pulled the tag off. If you want more details feel free to e-mail me.And here is the gallery shot of the peace fleece shorties pairs 2-5, the sixth pair is going on the needles tonight!

MIA for a bit but I'm back!

Sorry for the delay in updates I had a quick trip to Boston and CT two weeks ago and since then we've been sick with either a cold and/or allergies. But here I am with tons of pictures and lots of completed projects.

First a newborn Beanie I did as a trade. This is done with Italian cashmere trim and Sushi Sonnets yarn (not sure who dyed it). This was shipped today.

Next the blue peace fleece longies, these took the trip to MA/CT with us accidentally (I forgot they were in my knitting bag) and I am glad they did I got to take a great picture of them in full sun -- you can see the color here great -- a nice denim blue with a few small flecks of black.

The fifth pair of peace fleece shorties partially done in CT.
The shorties that will be part of a set (hopefully I will finish these tomorrow and post them sometime this week for sale). These go with a cute little robot shirt. The colorway is Retro by Belladonna so the set will be Retro Robot. This picture does the colors justice, hopefully I can finish these while we still have such great sun here in Maine for a great deck picture of the set.
And the four completed pairs of peace fleece shorties just before their bath and lanolizing tonight. The mama already has one pair. Two more pairs of peace fleece shorties left -- which color will be next?

Knittin' knittin'

So much to post tonight!

First the Fathers Grey Peace Fleece shorties are finished, ends weaved, crotch grafted -- drawstring done but not threaded through yet. I finished these Monday but my computer and the card reader had a bit of a spat, it seems fixed for now but we'll see.

I started another pair of peace fleece shorties. This colorway is a nice deep blue color -- I will go look up the name on the other skien tomorrow.

I also bought some Klean Kanteen sippy cups for the girls and while they loved them they didn't like picking them up cold AND since they were identical L would keep getting mad at V for taking "her" cup. So I made some Kanteen Kozies while the girls were down for their naps. The blue one is for L and the pink one is for V -- both girls love them. V has already figured out to leave the blue one alone and L no longer hordes both cups to keep V from using "hers".

And last some beautiful action shots of the rainbow shorties I finished last week. Thanks mama!
