I finished the other leg on the Calisto shorties tonight. I just have to weave ends, make the drawstring and wash and lanolize. I plan to try to knock out a pair of peddle pusher length shorties for V.

One leg on the Calisto shorties is finished, tomorrow I plan to graft the gusset and start work on the second leg. Posting to this blog is so much easier with this new computer --- this would have been a 2 hour project before and this whole post took me exactly 2 minutes!

Back in the saddle again!

So we finally bought a new computer. We were hoping to afford a new Mac but we just couldn't swing it, but we did get a GREAT deal on this laptop.

The difference is amazing. On my old laptop it took 20-30 minutes to download 4 pictures and then at least another 15 minutes to get it up on the blog. With the new computer I just downloaded 4 pictures in 30 seconds and because with the new computer I was able to use Picasa for my pictures I could send them right to my blog. So you will definitely be seeing more pictures and postings from me.

And now on to the knitting, here is my current project a pair of shorties for trade done in 3ply Purewool in their Calisto colorway. I am just about to start the gusset so I should be finished with these soon!

Newborn set done!

The newborn capris and soaker are done and will be mailed out tomorrow (had a cranky baby today and couldn't get a post office run in).
I also finished a pair of small shorties and a newborn soaker that I will be putting up for sale tonight on Diaperswappers. I was enjoying doing some smaller girly things and kept the trend up. These are knit with 3ply 100 purewool in the Colibri II colorway.

And lastly I finished this skirty last week but hadn't posted pictures officially yet. This is a tester for the new Sheepy Time Knits Skirty pattern she is writing, it is super cute on V and I really liked the pattern. This is done on Three Irish Girls Lindon Merino the skirt is in the Gwendolyn colorway and the trim and soaker are in the Isolde colorway.

As you can see V likes it as well :) I see a few more of these in our future for this summer!

Newborn knits night 2

This is the second night's progress on the newborn knits. Sorry the picture is still sideways this seems to be a Blogger issue as it is the right direction on my computer in the original format, blogger just keeps flipping my pictures when I load them.
I honestly did not get as far as I would have liked but we had an emergency here last night. My youngest had a high fever all day yesterday, with Tylenol and Motrin the lowest we could get it was 100 -- she has been teething so we didn't thing much of it. Well last night she woke up at 10 for her nightly one and only bottle, when I went to give it to her she was laying really weird. I noticed she wouldn't reach for the bottle or her binky so I picked her up and the noticed it was like she had no muscle tone in her shoulder or arms. I brought her out to the living room thinking it was because she was half awake. DH and I sat with her for about 15 minutes and she still wasn't using her hands or arms and she was fully awake and mad that she couldn't keep the bottle in her mouth. So we woke up our oldest and we all went to the ER. They checked her in immediately and she had a very high temp so they give her Tylenol to bring it down (we had just given her Motrin an hour before so they couldn't give her that). Her temp came down a bit but again not below 100. They doctor then came in and checked her and the poor little peanut has a double ear infection and her left ear was very bad -- they were worried it would burst. So they gave us some antibiotics and instructions to keep the Tylenol and Motrin on board for the next few days. Once her fever came down a bit she started using her hands and arms again so they told us that was just a result of her fever being so high. She gave us a good scare though.

With the antibiotics in her system and Tylenol and Motrin going she is much more comfortable today and has been sleeping most of the day (she didn't sleep much the last 3 days poor kiddo). Our oldest was also a champ at the ER and fell asleep in the waiting room on 2 chairs with Daddy watching her.

Another post and run...

I managed to get my computer to behave for a bit longer (just wait for the pictures below it is pretty comical). So I figured I would jump at the chance to post some pictures and do some updates.

First this is a pair of shorties done on Rodeo BFL in the colorway Elliot with some dark brown trim. These colorways always make me want a boy -- although doing a really girly skirty in a colorway like this would be interesting. These are drying now and should be ready to ship tomorrow or Monday.

Today I received a skein of Mosiac Moon Snow blossom on 3ply Uruguay Merino, this is for a newborn soaker and a pair of small capris. I just cast the newborn soaker on this afternoon and I am so excited to be knitting some itty bitties again.

These are the last 2 pairs of peace fleece shorties. I have the drawstrings done I just haven't threaded them through yet, these will be leaving for their new home soon. Not sure why they are sideways they aren't like that in my iPhoto I will come back and fix that when I get a chance.
And now for the comic relief. Here is what it takes to get a G3 iBook with a failing video chip to limp along for just a bit longer. What you are seeing here is a G3 700mhz iBook (my baby) that has about 4 layers of cardboard behind the video chip keeping the chip in contact with the logic board, then there is duct tape holding the now bulging sides together, some medical tape down by the touch pad keeping those edges together. And the star of the show one of DH's wood working clamps that I borrowed from him today to put pressure in *just* the right place to keep this puppy working until I have knit enough to buy a replacement. It looks totally bizarre but it works, and for a laptop that cost me $48 and I love dearly the awkwardness it creates doesn't bother me. We are actually planning to replace this iBook with an identically refurbished one it is perfect for our needs and other than the chip issue (which you can see below I know how to McGyver for awhile) it is great!

Really I will be sad when we get our new one -- but it will give me a chance to open the back of this one and attempt to bond the chip back to the logic board.

So that is it for now hopefully I will be able to keep the updates coming more frequently (with the help of the clamp).

Temporarily back

Computer purchase has been put on hold (I am determined to buy it with my knitting money alone) but I did manage to get my laptop to work with some more cardboard and some tape -- so for now we are good :)

Here are the finished Fluff Ball Auction longies, the yarn was hand dyed by A Twisted Stitch and knit up by myself. I love the colorway very rich and the yarn knit up with a nice thickness -- I am already dreaming up colorways for V on this yarn for her night woolies. These should be shipping on Monday (taking the weekend off as tomorrow is V's 1st birthday celebration and Sunday is of course Mothers Day)!

No pictures yet but I am working on a test pattern for a sheepy time skirty -- very cute if I do say so and I can't wait to finish it and try it on V.

I also cast on the last pair of peace fleece longies today -- no pictures as I hadn't cast them on when I took the photos this afternoon but there will be some soon!
