Double time

Working along on the peace fleece shorties. I had to put them aside for a bit because I need to wind the second skein into a ball and my ball winder was sleeping -- we'll do that tomorrow. I am splitting for the legs tomorrow so these should be done by the end of the week.

So because my fingers itch to knit at night I cast on the Belladonna Retro BFL to start a set for sale.

A satisfying weekend

Two pairs of shorties completed and ready to go, and a third pair on the needles.

First the rainbow shorties -- I finished them last night but weaved my ends and finished the drawstring today. I had initially knit the legs last night with black trim but I was just short and couldn't finish the second leg with black trim. So I pulled out the black trim and finished the legs in the main color. I had just enough yarn, if I had not used the black for the waistband I would not have been able to finish these from one skein. I have not washed and lanolized yet so this picture is unblocked which makes the bottom of the legs look a bit wavy.

And next the Ancient Fern Peace Fleece shorties. I finished these last week but my little helper lost my darning needle so I had to go buy one yesterday to weave my ends and graft the gusset :). These have not been washed or lanolized yet either so again the bottom of the legs look a bit wonky.

I also cast on another pair of peace fleece shorties -- I will post a picture tomorrow!

Rainbow shorties Night II

Here is the picture from last night on the rainbow shorties, I waited until this morning to take a picture to capture the colors better, my flash make the colors look totally different in this yarn. I've also had time to work on them today some and am splitting for the legs -- so these should be done shortly (no pun intended).

Rainbow shorties

I began the rainbow shorties last night. I ended up going to bed early but I did take a picture before I hit the sack. Here they are so far, I will be sure to take another picture tonight (although I probably won't get a chance to post until tomorrow morning).

I actually had about to this point done yesterday while the girls were napping but I ended up frogging it and restarting because I wanted to change the waistband a bit and do another row of black before I switched to the rainbow colorway.

Oh and this colorway is Rainbow with Black on BFL by A Twisted Stitch, the trim is black single ply merino by Kim as well :)

I finished the Ancient Fern Peace Fleece shorties tonight -- no picture yet as I want to block them first but here they are partially done last night

I also recieved some Mosiac Moon yarn (Rowan's yarn colorway) and a lucet today -- the yarn is for capris for V.

And last I thought I would share how I wind yarn with a ball winder and no swift :)

I hook the yarn over one knee and feed it to L who "knits" the yarn (translation she works the ball winder, but she thinks she is knitting and is SOOO proud).

And look when L gets too cool to help mama I have back-up :)

Holy yarn batman!

First the projects (it justifies the yarn purchases).

I finished a soaker with a new pattern that I am considering purchasing the liscence for. I like it a lot, I will have to get some pictures of V wearing it -- I just need to finish the drawstring and do some fun embellishing on it. It fits her perfectly.

Here is another pair of shorties. Again in Peace Fleece this time the color is Ancient Fern. Coming along nicely.

And now all the yummy wool my maillady brought today.

We'll start with the yarn I didn't buy :) This is Rainbow with Black by A Twisted Stitch. I can't wait to knit this up!

And now the yarn I did buy:
Peace Fleece some to knit items for sale some for summer shorties for V

Purewool for a skirty for V, this is Calypso with 2 skiens of matching trim

Some Blauer Ritter with matching green trim either for V or for woolies to sell (can't decide yet).

And last some Belladonna yarn - this is Retro on BFL. I bought it off FSOT thinking it would be for V but it is a bit boyish. As luck would have it though I bought a few 12 month shirts of ebay (hand dyed in a batik style) all of the shirts but one worked for V. And this yarn matches the shirt almost perfectly so I may just make my first set! I just need to figure out what to knit with the shirt.

Itty Bitty Set

I finished the newborn longies and knit a Ky Baby Ear Warmer hat to match. I love knitting booties and couldn't resist making a pair as a special present for the baby and a suprise for mama. The set came out so cute and I had a great time knitting it.

I also finished a pair of shorties in Patons Merino. My intent was to do a pair of FFS lotto longies for a mama in need who wants to try wool, but this yarn smelled funny to me. My husband said it smelled fine to him but I couldn't take it anymore so I turned them into shorties and put them up for sale cheap to fund some new wool for another pair of FFS lotto longies. They came out cute though!

Itty Bitty Knitty

I cast on the waistband for these longies earlier this week and the main colorway came yesterday, and I jumped right in. I never made newborn size longies because my kids generally have grown out of newborn sized things before they are even born! I am loving knitting this newborn sized pair of longies -- I keep looking at them totally amazed again that a little person will fit in them.

Here is the yarn when I received it yesterday. The yarn is the colorway Journey by Belladonna.

And here it is today:
